First synthetic, fully functioning, reproducing cell

After 15 years of research, Craig Venter’s team has achieved to boot a cell with their synthetic DNA. Beside the huge philosophical impact, synthetic bacterias might help in the development of new vaccines. Furthermore, Venter also hopes to contribute in solving the energy problem.

Clubroot – II MMX

The new album of clubroot is a blend of deep dupstep rhythms and post-rave oriental spheres. The work is being compared to Burial but Burial’s music is rougher and darker. Clubroot’s music shares the broken beats of dubstep but comes closer to dreamy-ambient artists such as Ulrich Schnauss. II MMX is a fantastic album which perfectly joins me through the miserable spring weather here in CPH.

New Caribou Album

Here comes the new Caribou album – fantastic underwater dance music! Honestly, I always preferred the remixes of Caribou´s music, in particular the stellar Four Tet remix of Melody Day. In Swim he left the remixers no room for improvements. A neat album!

4 Chord Songs

A very funny and illuminative comedy performance of the “Axes of Awesome”. Now I know why I hardly ever listen to radio where all the 4 chord pop hits are played. They not only repeat the same songs several times a day. The song schemes of different songs even repeat themselves.
